- American Girl Trademarked in Footwear
"American Girl" has been trademarked in footwear - meaning that American Girl could potentially start making shoes for children. The last time American Girl sold shoes was when the WellieWishers first launched, and they had a collaboration with Nordstrom in 2017 and 2018 to sell WellieWishers themed shoes. However, AG Sisters was also trademarked in footwear, so it seems like the shoes will be for that line.

- The Rumors Are False - The WellieWishers Aren't Going Anywhere
I've seen some rumors online that the new American Girl line, the AG Sisters, are going to be a replacement of sorts for the WellieWishers line, and that they are retiring. To quell this rumor once and for all, here's a reprinting of the WellieWisher book A Fintastic Surprise - which is releasing on September 2. Do you think AG would be reprinting a WellieWisher book if they were retiring for good?

- American Girl Trademarks - AG Sisters and Tenley
It seems like a new American Girl line is starting soon - a logo for AG Sisters, which I have previously posted about, was trademarked, as well as the name Tenley. Other names that have been trademarked are Jozette, Lucita and Wesley - could these four be apart of the same line?
- American Girl Charlotte Closing Today
Today is the American Girl store in Charlotte, North Carolina's final day of operations. At 7 pm local time, the store will close permanently.
- My Goodbye Message to American Girl Charlotte
Today, I went home for the last time. I walked the aisles of the American Girl store in Charlotte for the last time. I went to the Bistro for the last time. I got my doll’s hair done at the salon for the last time. I made my last purchase - 2 Truly Me dolls, which I will make custom dolls out of this summer. And as I walked out one last time, I couldn’t help but tear up… and I sobbed when I got home. AGP Charlotte was my everything. My rock, always there for me whenever I needed a pick me up from hard times, whenever I needed to celebrate progress on my writing, whenever a new doll came out and I ran from school to pick her up. From birthday parties to random Saturdays, "just browsing" days to "new doll" days, it was there for me so much throughout these last 11 years. And though the doors will be shut, though the sign will be taken down, though the stars on the lights will be converted into a regular storefront, though more people will walk through the spot in SouthPark Mall where the hearts of girls everywhere once flourished, right across from H&M and next to American Eagle and Macy’s, my heart will still be there long after the last customer leaves tomorrow. Forever an American Girl. Thank you to every employee who worked there. Thank you to Jill and Linda, who worked Saturdays when I was in middle school and always made sure to say hi to me. Thank you to Sophia, who did my Julie’s hair today and expressed how excited everyone was that I had come out all the way from Nashville for the last weekend of operation. Thank you to Angie, our party host who I just met today - and who told me she wants to start an AG blog of her own. Thank you to everyone whose names I’m drawing a blank on, all the faces who made every Saturday from 2015 to 2023 and my various visits during college breaks so magical. And thank you, the blog readers. Thank you for enjoying every image I’ve posted from this store over the last 11 years. Thank you to all those who lost their store before I did, who embraced Charlotte as “their store” and lived new releases voraciously through my phone pictures. Thank you to the half-dozen readers who drove hours to the Charlotte store on my 18th birthday to celebrate my coming of age and had the most memorable meetup ever. And thank you to everyone who’s supported my blog throughout the years - it is your support that allowed me to visit this store hundreds of times and have this be such a special place for me. This is not the end of store coverage on AGDN, I promise. More store pictures will come from Nashville for at least the next 2 years while I’m still in college. If any character dolls come out over the summer, and when they do after I graduate, I will travel to other stores to take pictures - and since my sister lives in Nashville permanently, it won’t be too hard to get there after I graduate. And of course, you all can always email me your store pictures if for some reason I can’t get to a store! Goodbye one last time, American Girl Charlotte. Thank you for everything.

- My Favorite American Girl Store Charlotte Memories
The American Girl store in Charlotte, North Carolina is going to close a week from today - and to commemorate this, I figured I'd make a list of my favorite memories from the store! The first time I went to AG Charlotte was a little bit after it opened, so I could beat the crowds. I went with my best friend at the time, and I got Josefina, and she got Rebecca. It was a really fun day! A month after the Charlotte store opened, I was taken to it during a teacher workday so we could try the bistro. I got my doll's hair done that day too, and I had a lot of fun! When 2015 started, I assumed that the store would be out of Grace dolls already. Nope - I was able to get Grace a few weeks before my birthday, and in 2016, I started my tradition of going to the AG store on GOTY release day and buying her! I ended up expanding that tradition to new Historical releases, too. In fifth grade, I restored a few American Girl dolls for people I knew. However, once I was tasked with restoring a Cecile for my special education teacher's daughter, it was too big of a task to do myself - so I took her to the American Girl doll hair salon! I had a few birthday parties at the American Girl store. In 2018, when I turned 13, me, my mom and my sister had a party at the bistro. In 2021, when I turned 16, there wasn't much to do because a lot of places were still closed, but we took a trip to the American Girl store to celebrate. And in 2023, when I turned 18, I had a meetup with my blog readers! The meetup was amazing, and I was hoping it would be the first of many in Charlotte. Alas, that was the only one. When American Girl Live came to town in 2019, I was all ready to go to the show after I left the store - and an employee gave me a ticket to the show that a blog reader had told to give me! I already had tickets, but I framed that ticket so I could commemorate the experience, and me and the blog reader sat together at the show! If I listed all the special memories I had surrounding American Girl releases, it would probably take up half this post! However, one particularly special release for me was Isabel and Nicki's release in February 2023. I had gotten a few bits of particularly good news for my project Rebelle the week leading up to their release, and the day before Isabel and Nicki came out, I got a piece of news that was some of the best news I had gotten in my life. It was so cool to celebrate what happened at the store - I'm still sworn to secrecy, but hopefully it won't be too long now until I can spill the details! Last, but not least. This is the only one that hasn't happened yet - my final trip to American Girl Charlotte. On Sunday, the day before the store closes, I am going to be doing the one thing I've never done before at the American Girl store in Charlotte - have an official party at the Bistro! Me, my mom, my sister and my cousin are all going to have one of the last parties at the American Girl Charlotte location ever, and after, I have my last doll hair salon appointment ever at the location. I decided to take Julie, my first ever doll, to commemorate the end of this era. I'm going to miss the American Girl store in Charlotte so much. AG store closures are always sad, but when it's your home store, it takes on a weight that you never have experienced in your life before this. This store was the happy place of my childhood and my teenage years - and when I come home from college for spring break and the summer, it's going to feel really weird not being able to go there all the time. All I can say is - I'm lucky I'm going to be in Nashville for two more years. After I graduate, though, I'll find a way to make things work. If I have to travel every time a new AG character doll releases, if it's for this blog, so be it!
