We are now four weeks away from the debut of a new Girl of the Year doll! 2023's Girl of the Year will release on December 29, and there haven't been many details surfaced around her yet. But invitations to her her reveal party were sent out yesterday, and now, I finally have some more theories about her personality!
The GOTY's name is rumored to be Kavi Sharma. Kavi is short for Kavika, which means "poet" in Hindi. With that in mind, I thought she'd be a poet all year, but my theories were proved wrong when American Girl put out a glitzy, "showstopping" invitation for her reveal party...
This description reveals that Kavi will be interested in the performing arts. Maybe theater, maybe singing... but both themes seem great! If AG makes a movie for Kavi like they did for Corinne (stay tuned for updates on that one!), they also could make a soundtrack, which would sell well.
Anyways, this revelation caused me to look at the predictions I had for Kavi back this past June and revisit them with this new information:
Yes, Kavi will be interested in the performing arts, so she will be a creative type GOTY like I predicted!
I predicted a color palette heavy on pink with some purple for Kavi, and it looks like I was right!
I predicted medium-length wavy hair similar in length to Nicki and Blaire, but with this information, I now predict longer wavy hair. With the exception of Gabriela, who was a reused Truly Me, all of the performer contemporary dolls (Isabelle, Marisol and Tenney) have had long hair, and Marisol and Tenney had wavy-curly hair.
I now also predict some sort of eye makeup for Kavi. If Corinne can get eyeliner even though her storyline is more adventurous, the glitzy performer doll can get it too.
Looking at the grouping of dolls five years apart from Kavi (Luciana, Saige and Mia), I finally figured something out that they had in common! I didn't find anything back in June, but today I remembered that all three had somewhat close bonds with their family. Luciana loved her adopted baby sister Isadora, Saige was close with her Mimi, and Mia was close with her four brothers. Maybe Kavi has a family member she loves? Probably a parent or grandparent considering Corinne just had a sister storyline.

So disappointed in this doll as I was with last year's as well. I guess it is not politically correct to make a blond, blue eyed doll anymore. That is telling American girls they are not as respected anymore.
I think she will be Indian or something.
I feel like AG has been really repetitive with their storylines. Kinda like this could be a combination of Rebecca and Claudie?
It looks as though she will have some blue as well in her color palette. I'm so excited for when we get actual leaks!
