The Rumors Are False - The WellieWishers Aren't Going Anywhere

I've seen some rumors online that the new American Girl line, the AG Sisters, are going to be a replacement of sorts for the WellieWishers line, and that they are retiring.
To quell this rumor once and for all, here's a reprinting of the WellieWisher book A Fintastic Surprise - which is releasing on September 2.

I honestly do not believe that AG would put out another WellieWisher book if the dolls themselves were going to be retiring. However, I am relieved that the WellieWishers are not going away, and I hope they stay around for much longer. I do find it very fitting that the books are aimed at young girls who are between the ages of 4 and 8 years old, and they are targeted towards grades P-3, which means preschool through 3rd grade. I love the name of the book. A Fintastic Surprise, which means it must be about a mermaid or a fish.
In my opinion, I believe the AG Sisters are going to target the same age demographic of the WellieWishers. In recent years, American Girl hasn't paid attention to the WellieWishers even less than they do the historicals, Girl of the Year, Bitty Baby, and Truly Me. The last release I believe was Bryant and Crisella the dragon's releases. They have not published a new book for the WellieWishers. It would make sense for the WellieWishers to get replaced, even if they are re-releasing the WellieWishers books.
