This is unrelated but does anyone remember from several months when they rereleased Kirsten and un-cubed Julie, Addy, and Josefina that there were five articles introducing these four historicals and Kit on the American Girl website? These articles talked about the character, their stories, their friends and families, their historical time period, and a behind-the-scenes look at their development and production. I looked at the American Girl website today and there are now a total eight articles. They just added an article about Samantha, Courtney, and Molly. No I think they changed Samantha’s prototype hairstyle to make it more girly. Or maybe they wanted Nellie to have this hairstyle.


Maryellen and Julie both also had prototype hairstyles too. With one having Maryellen with no bangs which resembled Rebecca and Ruthie’s hairstyle.


Valerie Tripp once revealed she wanted Lit to have long blonde hair but it was ultimately changed to a bob to be more compatible with the early 1930’s.


And Felicity was going to be a blonde character called Lucy but the name Lucy was not a popular name in the colonies. Ironically Elizabeth was originally depicted as having dark hair but they changed it blonde because of Felicity’s movie.
