American Girl Trademarks - AG Sisters and Tenley

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

It seems like a new American Girl line is starting soon - a logo for AG Sisters, which I have previously posted about, was trademarked, as well as the name Tenley. Other names that have been trademarked are Jozette, Lucita and Wesley - could these four be apart of the same line?

OK, this is actually really cool. AG Sisters would be a really neat line of dolls to be released. Although, judging by the names that have been trademarked, I think there will be 3 girls and 1 boy, just because Wesley is usually a boy's name. Are all 4 of them going to be released at the same time, or will they be released separately?

In Europe, Mattel’s Barbie My Scene “Madison” doll was called “Westley,” so Mattel has used the name for a female doll before.

Their names sound so much like Tenney, Josefina, and Luciana. Just like Isabelle and Isabel, and the two Nickis

American Girl nowadays reuses names. These names do sound very similar. I wish Isabel was Danielle and Nicki was called Heather. Danielle and Heather were both common names children in the 90's.

The logo looks nice. The letter font of the logo reminds me of the Fisher-Price logo. So it could be that this line is targeted towards youngers girls. I have heard numerous theories from American Girl fans that this could be focusing on the younger sisters of the WellieWishers. Right now, the WellieWishers are teenagers in age, so it would be reasonable for them to have younger siblings. Ashlyn looks like Latina, and the name Lucita is of Spanish origin. It would make sense if Ashlyn and Lucita could be sisters. The girls who grew up with the WellieWishers when the line first debuted would be teenagers today.

I did research on the name Tenley. It is of Old English…
