The American Girl Customized Gift Experience launched today! There are many options, so I played around with the customizer for a little bit- as in, a few hours- and made this post to detail them all.
Warning: there will be nerdiness in this post! I had a lot of opportunities to pick out names, so I used ones from my other fandoms to make the process go faster.
The gifts come in 2 sizes:
The Gift Trunk is the bigger (and more expensive) option. Costing $265, it comes with:
• A choice of any 18 inch doll with outfit and book
• Choice of two 'play packs'
• A free trip to the Doll Hospital within one year
• A letter to the recipient
• A storage trunk
• The option to pierce the doll's ears, get hearing aids in, or both
• AG Rewards members get a $10 reward when purchasing
• Free shipping
The Starter Set comes with less, but is a way to do the experience without breaking the bank. Costing $160, it comes with:
• A choice of any 18 inch doll with outfit and book
• Choice of two 'play packs'
• A letter to the recipient
• The option to pierce the doll's ears, get hearing aids in, or both
• AG Rewards members get a $5 reward when purchasing
• Free shipping
When you start the experience, it asks you these things:
-The recipient's name (I put 'Marinette')
-The purchaser's name (I put 'Adrien')
-Occasion (you can choose from congratulations, get well, happy birthday, happy holidays, so proud of you, or you're the best)
-What the recipient is like (adventurous, caring, confident, creative, loyal, curious and festive, you can pick 3)
-What you wish for the recipient (an adventurous spirit, caring heart, confident attitude, creative nature, curious mind, lifelong friendships and a loving family, you can pick 3)
It then gives you a choice of 2 character dolls and the option to pick a Truly Me, or you can hit 'View All' and pick any character doll. When you pick one (I hit 'Blaire'), it asks you these questions:
-Trunk or starter set (I hit 'Trunk')
-What play pack (or 2) would be good (there were only 2 options, so I clicked the ones that were available)
-If you want ear piercing or hearing aids
-Review your letter. This is a sample letter:
