Starting in October, the Chicago and New York stores are going to be offering 'checkups' for dolls at a new Doll Hospital section. I could imagine this is for the doll's vinyl skin, limbs, hair and body, so if they ever need more doll doctors, working there would be a breeze!
This would probably also serve as a place to drop off dolls to be fixed at the doll hospital in Wisconsin.
I like the concept, but it's a little kiddish. Then again, it's the target audience (and their parents) that ensures the survival of American Girl for us older fans, so we owe it to them to get their attention drawn!
