Sidney posted that new and diverse truly Me dolls are rumoured to be released in June. I wonder if diverse only means different skin, hair, and eye colors, or does diverse mean disabilities as well?
If you can't wait until AG creates a doll with Autisum, the Walmart brand of 18 dolls have both a boy and girl dolls called My Life As Autisum Advocate doll. I watched a Youtuber called Mommy's World review the girl doll doll. She said that she wears extremely soft clothing, comes with a beannie hat, headphones, and a fidget spinner. Mommy has a son with Autisum, and the brand not only worked with her and her son, but others with Autisum so that the dolls would be as accurate as possalbe. Plus unlike AG's dolls, the Autisum Advocate dolls are posable.
Typically, Truly Me dolls can have disabilities with accessories and optional modifications (such as the Berry Wheelchair, diabetes kit and hearing aid services), but the only ones that have permanent disabilities like you’re saying are the dolls without hair (70-73). It would be cool if AG made more dolls without hair and more disability accessories, or even better, more characters with disabilities like Joss, Maryellen and Gabriela.
American Girl should definitely make more dolls with disabilities. I really want them to do a doll with autism.
