Happy New Year, everybody! Later this fall, we will finally be seeing the release of the rumored Girl of the Year Summer McKinny. I'm looking forward to the next Mattel shareholder meeting, which I believe would occur sometime in February or March. Remember how they released a Lila's logo with the braided ponytail (which symbolized Lila braiding her horse Hollyhock's mane and tail and hinted that Lila was a horse girl). I hope they can release Summer's logo, which would give us implications as to what her theme will be. I have decided to make this post about Summer's interests, appearance, and others.

Let's begin with talents and hobbies! It's been theorized that Summer could be into space, like Luciana Vega. If this is so, we could possibly be seeing a seventeen-year-old Luciana. The name Summer has something to do with the hottest season and celestial things, including the Sun. So the name sounds like it has something to do with astronomy, like the name Melody involves music and Melody Ellison has a love of music and singing. I have written about Summer being interested in either science or art, because our most recent Girl of the Years are into sports, animals, and performing arts. We have not had a Girl of the Year being interested in science or art for sometime. If she is not a space girl, then she could be into art, like baking or painting. 2025 is exactly ten years after Grace Thomas, so there is a possibility she could be into baking and we would see an adult Grace. If she is interested in painting, then we could see an adult Saige Copeland. Or she could be into other types of science, like plants and botany. With this, we could seen a 25-year-old Lanie Holland.

Regarding appearances, I'm 100% fine with whatever race or ethnicity she's going to be, as long as she is another friend in the American Girl community. If she is African-American, I was hoping she's have the Makena mold or the Claudie mold (I love to see the newer face molds get more representation). I would love to have Summer in dark frizzy hair if she is African-American. If she is Caucasian, it would be nice if she was a redhead or has strawberry blonde hair (which many had hoped Lila would). I don't care what hair color or face mold she will have. People have been complaining that the Josefina mold is used way too often for the Girl of the Year line, but that is my most favorite face mold and I don't mind. If she is Caucasian, it would be fascinating if her doll has the Classic mold. We have not had a Girl of the Year with the classic mold since Isabelle Palmer ten years ago. Again if she is Caucasian, I want her hair to be frizzy.

Now about theme colors. If she is into space and astronomy, then her theme colors would most likely be midnight blue (it cannot be purple since that was Luciana's theme colors) to represent outer space. If she is into other types of sciences, she could have a green theme color with some pink or purple. If she is into baking, her theme colors would be pink with some other shade of pink or another color. If she turned out to be a painter, maybe her theme color would be yellow with multiple colors.

Not long before Lila's release, there were two new trademarks: Fettuccine and Crescent. Lila's furry friends, Hollyhock and Mighty Mae, were trademarked in November 2022, approximately a year before Lila was released. I believe Summer will release around October of 2024. This would mean that Fettuccine and Crescent are most likely Summer's animal companions, not Truly Me pets even though we got to get a glimpse of Tropical Taffy Poodle and have yet to see other new pets. If Summer is going to be interested in astronomy, the name Crescent would be ideal since it has something to do with the moon. I believe Crescent could be a cat, especially since Clawdeen Wolf, a Monster High, had a pet cat with that name. I don't know exactly what animals these two names could be. Either a cat, dog, or some other type of pet (like a rabbit or a hamster), even though I think American Girl has an overabundance of dog companions for their characters, especially in the Girl of the Year line.
