Emma is starting High School. Shes not ready for the change. Her best friend, Katie, became a popular girl, and ditched her for her new friends, Emma tried to keep up with the trends, but it’s hard, and all she really wants to do is read a book. When her short story is published in the newspaper, she earns the title of “nerd”. But at least Lexi, her good friend is there. And then Josh, the star football player comes into view. He sees Emma for who she really is, Emma. But then Lexi is bullied for being Black, and Emma doesnt Know what to do. When Lexi dies from heart cancer, Emma is alone. But will a new friend show Emma what is takes to be the real her?
