Now that Lila Monetti has come out, and the most interesting thing is that a previous Girl of the Year McKenna (from 2012) is her gymnastics coach. This is the first time we see an American Girl character in the future. McKenna went to college in Minnesota in the St. Paul area to study early education so she can become a teacher and is a coach for Lila's gymnastics team.

I have decided to make this post to tell you what I imagine are the fates of the other Girl of the Years (except for McKenna and Lila):

Lindsey - still likes to help others, became a social worker for a social organization in the Chicago area where she still lives

Kailey - became a marine biologist, lives by sea along the Pacific coast in California where she goes out to visit her precious tidepools in her free time

Marisol - works part-time as a teacher at a dance studio, part of a ballet folkorico dance troupe

Jess - finally became interested in the actual archeological techniques as a teenager, is now an archeologist working and researching at dig sites in Belize, where she would at times visit her childhood friend Sarita whom she has kept in touch with over the years

Nicki - works at the animal shelter and still trains search-and-rescue dogs, still enjoys riding horses, still close to her best friends Becca and Kris

Mia - became a professional ice skater and skated at ice competitions all across America, still plays hockey for fun with her three older brothers who have all grown up and have careers of their own

Chrissa - works at a crafts store, still keeps in touch with Gwen and Sonali, also worked part-time at an elementary school as a guidance counselor and teaches kids how to deal with bullying

Lanie - became a scientist and environmentalist, travels around the world mostly in tropical regions where she studies wildlife and have tons of outdoor adventures, still enjoys gardening and has her own garden where she plants flowers and vegetables and watches butterflies and other animals.

Kanani - works in her parents' shave ice shop and bakery where she loves to concot new tasty treats, enjoys entertaining tourists, volunteers at wildlife organizations that are trying to protect ocean life.

Saige - went to university to study art, now an artist and has her own art studio, loves going to New Mexico's famous hot air balloon festival, in her free time rides horses in the New Mexico desert

Isabelle - now a professional prima ballerina, works for a famous ballet company, designs ballet costumes for the shows, has traveled around the world performing in theaters, dances in famous ballet (like Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia and Jewels) with her older sister Jade who has also become a professional dancer for the same company.

Grace - her online baking business is booming, still works with her best friends Ella and Maddy, enjoys creating new variations of French desserts, keeps in touch with her step-cousin Sylvie and cousin Lily who are in Paris and excited for the Olympics, began her first year in college studying business adminstration and culinary

Lea - about to go off to university, decides to pursue a degree in photography and journalism and have environmental science as a minor so she can be a wildlife journalist so she can travel to Brazil and help her older brother Zac who is studying to get his Ph. D and become a nature scientist

Gabriela - studying for college entrance exams, still writes poems and paints pictures, still takes dance classes at the studio, volunteers for organizations working to help kids with disabilities.

Blaire - still works at her parents' bed-and-breakfast and restaurant, plans parties and weddings, finds new ways to improve her family's business, still posts and cooking videos and blogs with her mother

Joss - about to go to high school and plans to try out for the cheerleading team, still enjoys surfing, helps her best friend Sofia with raising awareness for marine life.

Kira - wants to become a scientist and work for the wildlife sanctuary in Australia, about to graduate middle school, still keeps in touch with Alexis, does not speak to Laila anymore, she and her mother still foster kittens, has made other friends in middle school

Corinne - still takes care of Flurry who has become a full-fledged search-and-rescue dog, spends time with Cassidy making crafts and playing in the snow during wintertime in Aspen, loves to spend quality time with her younger sister Gwynn (who is advancing in her ice skating lessons) at their sister shrine, takes care of her younger half-brother Blix Young, still loves to go skiing in Aspen

Kavi - went to musical theater camp with Alaina, still writes songs and dances to music, has balanced schoolwork and school revues perfectly, still takes yoga classes, has good grades at school, spends quality time with her best friends Sophie and Pari.
