I see it as a potential epic benefit sale haul next year 😊
I don't generally like the painted eye lashes. On some dolls they are less noticeable and are more "naturally" enhancing, but others just look like cheap teenage eye makeup. And there is an excessive amount of color in the doll's hair. Maybe it's just where I live, but colored hair is not representative of 25% of our kid and teen population. It seems like they are not shooting for "Truly Me", but "Truly What is on Hollywood movies and shows that we want you to think is everyone out there so you need to be more like Hollywood!".
(kid writing here) I think mom would call the new line of tms "truly ugly" and so would I... for some of the dolls. yes, many of them have colored hair and are definitely not pretty. but a few of them are. anyone knows that if you REALLY hate a doll, you can always put a wig that is just normal colored. the outfits look like something a four-year-old who never used a sewing machine in their entire life did as their first fabric project. even mom's first sewing thing looked better. mind you, it was just a doll blanket, but the seams were even, all the edges were properly turned under, the backing didn't fall off. and ag can't even teach their employees how to stich a a dress hem? oh, and also, a leak picture showed an african-american girl doll, and her boots were clearly taken off of some random mia doll's meet outfit...
just my 100 cents
(oh, btw, if you really want to hear more of me or mom roasting ag I have some pictures of Maritza's neon stripe outfit and the fabric that they used looks like it was originally old covid masks... lol)
That is the best way to put it. A new generation. Part of what made AG so enduring as a company is that it was..... enduring. The changes from 1986 to 2020 when the first colored hair dolls were released were so minor and incremental that you didn't even realize the differences much. Until a couple of weeks ago I didn't even realize that there were two different #4 styles (one PC the other AG). All of a sudden everyone has painted eyelashes etc. It reminds me of the dark pit that My Little Pony fell into. If it wasn't for the branding you wouldn't even know it was the same toy. I hope that AG doesn't change so drastically that they are unrecognizable. As much as I love the very first PC dolls, there was room for improvement, and I think AG kind of hit the sweet spot around 2005-2015. I love my original white body Molly, but my daughter's AG Molly from 2010ish is just gorgeous. I hate what they are doing with the face paint - not just the eyes, but the eyebrows. Some of them are distractingly bushy. And I love Makena, but I think that they didn't do enough modeling and testing because the eyeballs are just too small for her eye sockets. I feel like she was not as polished as the other molds.
yes! and also i agree with you on makena's mold bc although i love her and think she's adorable, i feel she does look off. like if i didnt know much about Ag i wouldn't think she was an Ag doll.. i dont mind the face paint but sometimes it is a little much.and about Ag's new eyebrows, as someone with big thick eyebrows i appreciate Ag's new range of of brows lol
i was thinking that too, like with tm83 i know she was very popular with Ag collecters but all of a sudden she just vanishes into thin air! but i had also seen a leak of all 25 new tm dolls and one of them looked very similar to 83 but with a different face mold so maybe thats why they got rid of her? i really dont know.
I’m probably gonna just listen to my playlist on Spotify and pray that this is just a hoax even though it probably isn’t.
yeah i think i have #23 but its sooo sad im about to cry😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭sorry but thats what i feel
I know :(, I was really sad when they retired 55, but now I‘m even more sad they are discontinuing the entire truly me line!

It's like all our memories are being thrown away
I knew a day like this would one day come.
But don't get me wrong. I like the new dolls. But why can't AG keep some of their "old" dolls too?
Yea it’s sad, but to me I think it’s just another era for Ag, it’s time for a refresh.
