A ton of therioes are going around because the benifet sale is closing. Apparently the warehouse in madison, wi is gone. Apparently they moved the stuff to a much smaller location that is temporary. Also apparently they told the employees that they could either move with the company to California or just be laid off. So many people are thinking that AG is selling mattel and the new headquarters will be in california. There were some rumors last year about them selling American Girl but those got kind off faded out over time, but w/ the sale closing those rumors are circulating again. I personally would be fine if mattel sells ag, but I don't want AG to die. So yeahhh.... What are your thoughts???
P.S. Sorry that this post in kind off scrapily writien, I wrote it in a rush and so there is some spelling mistakes too :)

Oooh... we might probably get news on this in a few months because that seems big...
I haven't heard these rumors, but to me they seem a little unlikely. Who exactly would Mattel, one of the largest toy companies in the world, sell American Girl to? I don't think they would, unless AG was doing REALLY bad. It could just be my personal opinion, but I feel like we would have seen signs that AG was being sold. Instead, it feels like Mattel is doing MORE with American Girl. I could get selling American Girl if it was owned by a somewhat small company, but Mattel is literally HUGE. Also, the way the email that Madison Children Museum sent out stating this year's sale would be the last makes basically tells us that it was the museum's decision to end it. This is what the email said: "For the past 36 years, hundreds of volunteers and staff from Madison Children's Museum have worked countless hours to host the sale, and tens of thousands of shoppers have attended from throughout the country. Now, however, we must attend first and foremost to the work of being a children's museum. We have an ambitious year of work ahead of us; the considerable resources required to run the sale would conflict with that work. This is the right decision for MCM to best serve the children and families who depend on us." I also looked into the office thing. So, the Madison office actually closed in the 1980s, so I think you might have meant the Middleton office. From articles I've read about AG moving headquarters (which are really confusing to understand for some reason), there's nothing about the Deforest office being temporary. In fact, it seemed to me like the actions they were taking in moving the office were to expand. I can't find anything about AG moving to California. However, when they moved, 55 employees were impacted and given the opportunity to reapply for jobs at AG, so that kind of sounds like a bit of what you've described here. AG has moved their LA store, which is in California, and closed their San Francisco store, so there has been AG action in California lately. Maybe people are just a tad bit confused? I could just be a crazy person, but it doesn't seem to me that these rumors are true.
omgg!! Even if they don’t sell the company it’s still going to be so much different, employees ffom California will be very different than employees from Wisconsin! and Maybe that’s one of the reasons why the benefit sale is closing since ag isn’t even going to be in Wisconsin anymore? I wonder if this will slow down releases?? Whatever they do ag probably won’t be the same
but I am also sad...
