Maybe a medieval princess, or a French GOTY who loves writing.
I'd like a different American-Indian doll, like a Cherokee one who experienced the Trail of Tears. That might be pretty depressing, now that I think about it, but American Girl handles harsh parts of history (slavery, the Yellow Fever, working in the factory, etc.) incredibly well, so they could probably pull it off. 😀 If it would still be too depressing, then they could make her successfully settled in or around the Oklahoma Territory, and her mother, father, or both experienced the Trail of Tears, telling her about it now and then as we get a glimpse of what her everyday life is like. This would include interaction with white Americans, some of whom would be cruel and others peaceful.
