So, as some of you know I used to have an idea of getting Nicki at the AG store when I went for Nicki and Isabel's reveal, but I didn't wind up doing it because I was saving up for something. Well it turns out I might not get to go to the thing I was saving up for, so I've decided that I will get her next time I go to the AG store. Some of you may ask "BookFAN, are your parents just going to drop everything and take you to the store?" Well, normally, they wouldn't, but my library is having a reading competition, and if I read one hundred books during the summer and KittyFan reads fifty, my parents give my sisters and me a prize, and we want that prize to be to go to the AG store in Charlotte, and there I'll get Nicki.
And question for all adult AGDN members, if you collect AG dolls, what do you do with them? I don't play with dolls, and I can't make stop motions. I don't really sew anymore either. So any ideas on what I can use the dolls for?
Thanks for Reading, Bye! š
In regards to your question for adult collectors, while I'm not one, I am a teen collector so I guess I count kinda technically lol-?
But right now, due to my limited space, I primarily display my dolls. I try to leave them in as pristine condition as possible and only change their outfits every now and then. I don't like to do stop motions with them due to, again, space limitations and I don't want to mess them up somehow. And I can't really craft so making clothes and furniture is out of the question. *But* even if I did have the resources and skills, I would still want to display them. When I was younger, I enjoyed playing with them (gently, of course), but now that I'm older, I enjoy looking at them and admiring their beauty. I do have plans though to upgrade my display setup once I can have more space, and maybe to dress them up for seasons and do photography in the future, but for now, just looking at them is enough for me. ^^
Cool! I enjoy taking photos of my dolls and making an AGIG or AGtube account is also very fun!
Itās kind of funny to me that I got my second AG doll almost the exact same way youāre hoping to get Nickiā- reading! XD Nickiās awesome. Hereās a review I did on the twins if you want to read it: http://justdolling.blogspot.com/2023/03/a-review-of-nicki-and-isabel-hoffman.html Iām only a teenager, but there are a lot of different ways to enjoy AG dolls! A lot of adult collectors Iāve seen like to craft for their dolls, take pictures, and sew. I know you said you donāt really sew, but for me, sewing for my dolls is majorly how I got into sewing and what helped me improve and work up to bigger projects. I like AG photography as well. Thatās one of my older AG pastimes, so I think Iāve gotten pretty good at it. A lot of adults that arenāt necessarily into AG or dolls in general often times like to make little dollhouse displays, and I like to compare my AG hobby to that. You could set cute scenes up with your dolls. I also like to just dress my dolls. I have a blog, and I really like to write photo stories. Itās also fine to have dolls and just look at them. Thereās a lot of ways you can āplayā with your dolls, but it doesnāt really matter as long as you get enjoyment out of them!
That sounds like a great idea! Iām not an adult yet but i like to take photos of my dolls! If you get really into it you could make backdrops, props, costumes, and even custom dolls just for photo
shoots! i like to make rooms for my dolls and display them too. You could also write stories about your dolls, you could even do fan art! :)
