Yay! part 2! Mini tragedy of (yester)day: I was taking pictures of Lily, when she fell. On the sidewalk. Face-first. She got a scuff of her cheek, but I was able to make it pretty unnoticeable so it’s ok
I was going to have this up yesterday, but halfway through writing it we went to the park... with some friends... and I may or may not have taken my camera... and taken some (or a lot) of pictures... and then edited them for the next hour and a half instead of finishing this :)
Cassia
“Not to be rude, but are you going to tell me how I got here?” I asked.
“Nana! Look! I got Clementine!" Like an orange? Who names their doll after an orange?
The girl, supposedly Amy, had scampered back in the room, holding a china doll. The older woman shooed her out. She began; “Well, dear, what happened is...”
"Cassia!" I heard the voice and instantly knew it was Josh, running up the stairs into the attic. "Finally, you're awake. We thought you could be..." he didn't finish. He didn't need to, Amy had said it earlier.
"I'm not dead Josh." I broke into a smile, "But it's nice to know you were worried about me," I teased.
Josh smiled. A smile that made me feel like everything would be okay.
"How long was I out?" I asked finally.
"Four days," Josh and the older lady said at the same time.
"FOUR DAYS!" I exclaimed.
"We know," Josh said.
"She knows?" I asked.
"Yeah, she knows. And by the way Chosen One, this is Mrs. Whittaker."
"Hello Mrs. Whittaker," I said. "What were you going to tell me before Josh barged in?"
"I was going to tell you what happened. And, Cassia dear, let me warn you, it's not a bedtime story."
"I can handle it," I said, looking into Josh's eyes.
Elle
"Look Cal, you need me alive."
"Not necessarily," she growled.
“And I don’t want to be dead,” I continued.
Now, it may sound like I know a lot, so let me clarify, I only know as much as I need to know. All that I have had confirmed to me is the basics of the FAO, that my roommate is a ‘person of interest’, and that people might try to kidnap her. Yeah, a real cliffhanger.
“So what are you getting at?”
“Untie me, then I’ll come with you and won’t cause any trouble.” Lucky for me, Cal tied my wrists behind me. That’s luck because she couldn’t see that my fingers were crossed. And luck that she didn’t check my pockets for the newspaper articles.
“Yeah right.”
“Really, I’ll drive with you all the way to wherever you’re taking me and I won’t yell the whole time.”
Cal snorted. Yes, actual snortage.
“Would you yell if the car were to drive off that cliff I mentioned earlier? Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
“Wait. You’re going to drive us off a cliff?”
“Depends on if the other route is blocked,” she said breezily, looking at her nails. “Are you ready to walk back to the car now?”
“Well you kinda tied my feet together.”
Cal rolled her eyes and cut the ropes around my ankles with a knife that she pulled out from her shoe. A shoe sword. Is she also secretly a pirate? I would also like to note that she made a cut into the back of my favorite pair of tennis shoes.
Arianna
I dodged the wave of the security camera, I turned the grandfather clock to 3:46, I watched as a rope ladder fell down from the ceiling, I climbed it in 22 seconds (a new record). When I reached the roof of the girls dormitories though, I stopped. I saw someone. No one should be out of the building now. Which might seem hypocritical, because I was out of the buildings, but let me rephrase. No one who didn't know the secrets of Sierra Cove should be out of their dormitories at two in the morning. Especially when there was a lockdown. Especially when our schools whole history, the one we had been hiding for centuries, was on the verge of tumbling out. Especially, especially when Joslyn Topeka was here.
I didn't roll my eyes, I just ran, down the fire escape without making a single sound, around the corner of the building, right to where I could plainly see the person who was risking everyone's safety by being outside.
And then I rolled my eyes.
Because I could have died for Aiden. Yes, he was a Shadow Creek student and a raven, but he was also kind of stupid because he was standing in the middle of the courtyard where he could clearly be seen by seven security cameras. Seven! And those were only the ones I knew about. And I couldn't even tackle him to the ground because then I could be seen by the seven security cameras. So maybe he was smart too. I knew he couldn't see me from my hiding spot though, so I turned and walked silently to the gate, where I climbed up the ladder on our side of the maintenance building and then to the giant tree growing on the other side, which I could have climbed down blindfolded, (for the record, I actually have) and into the hollow that was just large enough for me to fit through.
Cassia
Things I have learned in the last week (while I was awake): A list by Cassia Tailor/Sierra
That I’m adopted
That my last name is Sierra
What FAO stands for (and fyi, it’s not ‘for the attention of’ if you googled it)
That I’m the Harry Potter of Evermore
That there are approximately one hundred- seventeen alternate universes in the, well, universe, Evermore just happened to be the closest to the Earth
The place where you can slip through from one universe to another is “scientifically” (aka according to Josh) called ohut paikalla (yeah, it’s ok, I forgot how to pronounce it already), but is loosely translated as “thin spot” (according to Mrs. Whittaker)
How I, Cassia Sierra, was knocked out with a brick, pushed off a cliff by/ along with my kind-of-boyfriend, and ended up in the house of Mrs. Renee Whittaker. In an alternate universe. Called Evermore. With Josh Adams (yeah, he actually has a last name) sitting at the foot of my bed looking *genuinely* concerned for my mental health.
Questions
1. Any good ship names for Josh and Cassia yet?
2. Is Elle actually going to fall off that cliff?
3. Who is Arriana and how much does she know?
4. Who is/was (in the past, she's not dead) Mrs. Whittaker?
Hehe ok
