Hey guys! I need some suggestions! So, I have two custom dolls that I rewigged years ago. The first one is Nicole, a former TM 23, and the second one is Dakota, a former TM 25. They were both rewigged with non-AG wigs I bought off Etsy and painted with unsealed acrylic paint. I don't really like their current wigs very much, and since I haven't played with them in a while, I think it's time to customize them again. I think I'm also ready to give them new names and personalities that go with my collection a little better. I've had them both for so long that my collection has completely changed, and I don't feel like they fit anymore. So now the fun part- choosing wigs! This is where I need suggestions! I'd prefer to use American Girl brand wigs because the wigs I've used in the past were really thick and had a weird glossiness to them. I want to choose wigs that will really make them stand out in my collection because I have 42 other dolls that are all fairly unique! Otherwise, there are so many options, and I would love to hear your opinions on what would look good! My dad suggested I use a red wig for Nicole and get a short wig for Dakota and turn her into a boy doll. I love both of those suggestions. The most common red wigs I think I would be able to find belong to dolls I already have in my collection, though. I think a red wig with bangs like what Jly 17 has would be adorable, I just have to find one. Or maybe a 66 or 103 wig. I've even complimented using a Mia wig, but I do have quite a few strawberry blondes in my collection already. For Dakota, I'm thinking brunette or dirty blonde. I'd probably have to get a wig that's not AG if I wanted to make her into a boy doll, but I really want another boy doll in my collection. Right now, I have Logan and he's kinda outnumbered. Plus, I've given Dakota freckles and she'd seriously be such a cute base for a boy doll.
So yeah, that was some rambling, but if you have any ideas for what kind of wigs I should look for, let me know!
