My first doll was Maryellen and I got her off Amazon. I was just looking on American Girl and I'm not sure if I actually have her. In the picture on American Girl, Maryellen has blonde hair, but mine has reddish hair, it's not really even blonde. A picture is attached (Maryellen is between Samantha and Courtney. Also her eyes appear to be different (at least to me). A close up of her is below. Could one of you please look and see if this is actually Maryellen or did Amazon swindle me? She came brand new-she was not used.
Okay thank you guys so much! I'm just confused about why her bangs are so weird when they are pushed to the side. is it a tie-in with the story on when she cut her hair.

She also look really blonde in the photo on the site. As for the bangs, i smoothed them out so they look less messy.
That definitely looks like Maryellen. My Mary’s hair is basically red too— (I think they call it Light red? In the CYO category? Idk…) As you can see On my profile pic, I have Maryellen. Only thing that’s throwing me off is her bangs. They’re really flat, and remind me of Samantha’s. Whereas Mine are very similar to my Grace’s— more to the side, a slight swoop, and a piece that goes on top that is on the other side of her part but is made to go across her bangs. Weird explanation. Sorry this is so long. I think that it’s very possible that your Maryellen could’ve Been rewigged with a wig that is slightly different. As for the eyes, mine are a deep hazel, almost brown
she looks like a Maryellen! The stock pictures are extremely edited, so don’t worry about your doll not looking the exact same as them :)
