When AG (Present Company back then) was founded, it was by a sweet 40-something lady who wanted to teach little girls about the country they lived in, not a million dollar company It was ALL about the historical dolls and their wasn't a TM, GOTY, CYO, or CC to be found. Now, AG is ALL about the modern dolls, only taking a break to showcase the newest BeForever dolls, Maryellen, Nanea, Julie, Melody and soon, Courtney. Every year AG cubes at least one BeForever doll and this is clearly the reason why AG is suffering financially. One of the reasons moms buy $100 dolls is because they remember how much fun they had as a kid with their Molly/ Samantha/ Kirsten and they want to buy their kid the same thing they had fun with as a kid ( its also the reason my little sister has 500 Barbies) Now that the original trio is gone, mothers who loved their dolls aren't shopping at AG because they can't find the very same doll that they had as a kid. So, AG, if you want revenue, you gotta get what the crowd wants. Focus on the historical dolls/ BeForever, not yet another Truly Me!

You are right. American Girl needs to focus on the historicals. I notice that most people online prefer the historicals over the other types of dolls. I feel like American Girl has also been neglecting even modern American history characters like Julie. I think they are doing this to all the historicals except Courtney and the Hoffman twins. They did not even promote Claudie properly. You are also right about this. If American Girl were to pay more attention to the historical characters then they could finally boost their sales, but instead they are focusing on collabs with other companies, like Disney.
However, over the years, magic tiles 3 has expanded its product offerings to include contemporary characters, personalized dolls, and a wider range of accessories and clothing. This expansion has allowed the brand to appeal to a broader audience.
I know right! I wish AG would listen to their customers more! Historicals for the win!!!
Yes a Coronavirus GOTY
I just exploded with an idea. What if GOTYs were trying to teach about how the world was in a certain place back then, and now to represent how things change from a girls point of view, and the girl was the GOTY.
I have to admit, I think GOTYs should still exist, but they should be a side thing. Not huge collections, just a bit of storyline and an accessory. I wrote a whole essay and added illustrations about Pleasant, I think they should just keep the topic to historicals. And I want historically accurate accessories rather than “prettier” things. BeForever is amazing, sad it’s gone.
Oh, I've seen The Queen's Treasures on Amazon. I'll try it out.
